In the years leading up to 2014, I began noticing my skin was incredibly sensitive. I was experiencing issues with tightness, stinging, redness, and painful cystic acne. It didn’t take long for me to decide enough was enough!
After beginning my research, I found many toxins were commonly found in household and skincare products I was using- explaining the symptoms I was showing. After finding alternative products that seemed great on the surface, free from toxic ingredients, I couldn’t help but notice how terribly overpriced they were! Thus, sparking the start of The Essential Homemaker.
Using my degrees in chemistry, biology, and human nutrition functional medicine, I began creating my own products. This was the only way I felt safe putting things on my skin, into my body, and on my hair because I knew I could regulate every single ingredient being placed into each product.
After a while, my friends at church began to notice my skin looked better than ever! I realized I couldn’t keep these products a secret, I HAD to share them. What started as a small Etsy shop to keep me occupied in my spare time, has morphed into my own website and a fulltime business that I love with my heart and soul.
Everything Essential Homemaker is related to prayer. I mean everything. This ministry belongs Jesus, and I am so thankful for the talent he has given me. Before I create and formulate a product, I have to get in touch with the Giver of the gift to ensure I am doing what He wants me to do with it. This talent will not be buried, rather I will do with it all that I can to protect, preserve, and grow it for the kingdom.
I believe what sets me apart from other natural product businesses is that I use only the highest quality ingredients I can get my hands on. I use raw, unrefined, organic options, while still having strict non-toxic standards and remaining affordable. I check purity reports on the
ingredients I use so that I provide truly non-toxic products. It is my absolute desire to provide the best products I possibly can that fit any budget.
In the little spare time I have, I enjoy spending time with my son and his dog. I like watching old TV shows or simply going to bed early to catch up on my sleep. Rarely do I find spare time because I enjoy creating product so much! Knowing how much I help people and make their lives better through the products I make is so incredible. It’s hard to describe and explain, but it’s almost like my soul is giddy.
