Germall plus-3

We use BTMS-50 at 3.5% as a gentle plant-based emulsifier and conditioner. Rated a 3 by EWG, this ingredient is necessary for a stable, creamy texture. It is rated a 3 by EWG due to potential irritation at high levels, but I have used it here at a safe, gentle concentration well within cosmetic safety guidelines.

We use Liquid Germall Plus at 0.5-1% as a broad-spectrum preservative to help protect the product from microbial contamination during normal use and storage. This usage level is within established cosmetic safety guidelines for rinse-off and leave-on personal care products. Liquid Germall Plus is a formaldehyde-releasing preservative, but when used at recommended levels, the amount released is extremely low and remains within established cosmetic safety limits.

Why we use a preservative?

Any product containing water can become a breeding ground for bacteria, yeast, and mold if not properly preserved. We use Liquid Germall Plus at 0.5%, the manufacturer's recommended usage rate, to help maintain product integrity and safety throughout its intended shelf life.
