About the ingredients:
1-Elderberries are used for boosting the immune system against influenza, H1N1, HIV/AID. In addition to the common cold, sore throat, coughs, bacterial and viral infections. It is also used for sinus pain, sciatica pain, neuralgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as hay fever, cancer. It is also used as a laxative, increases urine flow, and causes sweating all of which aid in removing toxins from the body.
2-Manuka honey- an antibacterial, that prevents and treats cancer, while balancing your GI, just to name a few of the benefits. Not to mention tastes great!
3-Turmeric- powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, promotes longevity.
4-Ginger- improves digestion
5-Clove- strong antiseptic
6-Cinnamon bark- antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, astringent, and anticlotting properties.
Note: The Essential Homemaker Elderberry Syrup is highly concentrated as it contains the elderberry skin and pulp from the slow steeping process. I do not use the elderberry seed. The syrup does not contain extraneous sugars, such as simple syrup, fructose or maple syrup to make it sweet. It is slightly sweetened by Raw Manuka honey, which also makes this syrup medicinally powerful.
The elderberry syrup is an antioxidant, vitamin and mineral powerhouse! Use sparingly until you are able to work up to an adult dose.
*If you have not ever taken elderberry syrup before, please be aware that it is a remedy for constipation. I recommend starting off with 1tsp 1 time per day for 3 days, then increase to 2tsp 1 time per day for 3 days, with a final increase to 1Tbsp 1 time per day for the ADULT preventative dose.
